Two of the founding members of the consultancy, Robert MAGYAR and MA Hong, move into new positions as senior executive director and executive director, respectively. Mr. MAGYAR will continue to oversee the overall operations and international client support of North Head. Ms. MA becomes the senior Chinese partner in the company, providing high-level strategic advice on Chinese stakeholder engagement to clients, as well as leading the strongest healthcare team in China.

Junni OGBORNE, director of the public affairs team, will take on new responsibilities for government relations projects for North Head’s multinational clients. He will continue leading the policy and regulatory research projects of the company too.

Two new additions, LIU Haining (Laura) and CHEN Jing (Jillian), will strengthen strategic communications, including reputation and crisis management, public affairs, media relations, and event support services of the consultancy.

Ms. LIU joined North Head as a director in early June. She is a seasoned professional with solid communications experience spanning the media and both the public and private sectors. Her time as a journalist included five years as a prime-time news anchor at Beijing TV, experience as a correspondent at CCTV, and presenting several radio documentaries on the BBC World Service. She has also contributed articles to the print media, including the Financial Times and the South China Morning Post. Prior to joining North Head, Laura worked in-house in China’s non-profit sector, where she led branding, profile building, outreach campaigns, and stakeholder engagement work across international NGOs, foundations, education institutions, as well as local NGOs. Laura started her career at Ford Motors China’s public affairs team. She graduated from the University of Oxford with a Master in Public Policy degree and holds a Master of Arts in Communications Studies from the Journalism School of Fudan University.

Ms. CHEN also joined North Head in June as a director. She has over 15 years’ experience working in the PR and marketing industries. This includes several leading international PR firms such as Weber Shandwick, Hill & Knowlton, Edelman, and Ketchum, where she focused on corporate communications campaigns and branding services. Jillian’s expertise includes in-depth strategic planning and project management for complex key retainer accounts encompassing a broad scope of services. She is also skilled in managing multimarket campaigns and regional clients from corporate, technology, consumer, healthcare, tourism, food, and fashion sectors. She has great experience in crisis management from preparatory activities to lower risk and navigating an actual crisis to implementing post crisis recovery plans. Jillian started her career at China International Economic Consultant Ltd., a subsidiary of CITIC. Her focus was counselling foreign enterprises in terms of Chinese public policy and regulations and organizing their outreach programs with Chinese government ministries and agencies.
